Partnerships
Alside partners with objective, third-party organizations that continuously test our products and verify that we meet the highest standards of performance and quality. They include:
Consumer Reports works to create a fair and just marketplace for all. As a mission-driven, independent, nonprofit member organization, CR empowers and informs consumers, incentivizes corporations to act responsibly, and helps policymakers prioritize the rights and interests of consumers in order to shape a truly consumer-driven marketplace.
USGBC (U.S. Green Building Council) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming the way buildings and communities are designed, built, and operated, enabling an environmentally and socially responsible, healthy, and prosperous world. We are best known for our successful Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) green building certification system.
The Polymeric Exterior Products Association (PEPA), formerly known as the Vinyl Siding Institute, sponsors independent, unbiased testing, inspection and certification of vinyl siding performance. Alside siding has been certified under PEPA programs to meet or exceed the rigorous battery of tests for vinyl siding quality.
Thanks to this certification program, you can rest assured that, when installed according to our instructions, Alside siding will meet or exceed industry standards for quality and performance. You can also be confident that your siding will maintain a uniform color over time, lie straight on a flat wall and withstand the effects of normal seasonal temperature fluctuations.
The American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) is a non-profit organization that provides a forum for the development and publication of voluntary consensus standards for materials, products, systems and services. ASTM standards serve as a basis for manufacturing, procurement and regulatory activities.
ENERGY STAR® program is a joint venture between the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) designed to encourage homeowners to purchase energy-efficient products. Using less energy in our homes reduces the amount of CO2 emissions released into the atmosphere from burning fossil fuels such as coal, oil and natural gas.
The Fenestration & Glazing Industry Alliance (formerly AAMA and IGMA) is internationally recognized for the development of stringent performance standards. Every window and door that boasts FGIA certification undergoes extensive independent testing for resistance to water penetration, air infiltration, structural loads and impact, as well as insulated glass seal durability.
The Insulating Glass Certification Council (IGCC) is a non-profit organization jointly established in 1977 by manufacturers, consumers, specifiers and others concerned with the quality and performance of insulating glass units. IGCC sponsors and directs an independent, true third-party certification program. Periodic accelerated laboratory tests, per American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) specifications, and unannounced plant quality audits and inspections assure the quality and performance of sealed insulating glass products.
The National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC) establishes test criteria that set the standard for performance ratings for manufacturers of window and door products. The primary goal of the NFRC is to provide accurate information on the energy performance of these products.
